About

I'm Yash, a senior full stack developer in Bangalore. 8 years in, I work on the R&D team at Twilio Segment, building AI features that real customers use.

I like the parts of products that have to work: the crawler that cannot fall over, the sync that must finish before morning, the agent that should ask before it deploys.

I started out building web-crawling infrastructure, spent a few years in e-commerce and travel making pipelines faster and infrastructure cheaper, and now spend my days on agents, retrieval, evals and the interfaces that put them in front of customers.

I'm happiest when a problem has real constraints, and when someone has to be honest about trade-offs. Most of what I've learned I've written down on the blog.

How I work

Measure before you believe

My theory about why something is slow, or why a model is better, is usually wrong. A profile or an eval set takes an hour and ends the argument.

Make it safe to retry

Idempotent writes, resumable jobs, approvals before anything irreversible. Speed comes from being allowed to fail cheaply.

Start with the boring layer

The model is rarely the hard part. State, streaming, rate limits, rollbacks and the interface are, and they decide whether it ships.

Write it down

If I learned it the hard way, I write it up. The blog is where those notes end up.

Questions people ask

Short, direct answers.

Who is Yash Pokar?

Yash Pokar is a senior full stack developer based in Bangalore, India. He works on the R&D team at Twilio Segment, where he builds AI features for customers, and has about eight years of experience across web crawling, data pipelines, Kubernetes infrastructure and AI agents.

What does Yash Pokar work on?

Agents with tool use and state, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation harnesses for LLM features, and the interfaces that put them in front of users, including the AG-UI and A2UI protocols. Before that he worked on crawlers, data pipelines and cost-efficient Kubernetes platforms.

Which AI product did Yash Pokar ship at Twilio?

Functions Copilot, which lets Segment customers generate Segment Functions from plain-English prompts. Yash took it from a company hackathon demo to production, building the retrieval layer, a LangGraph agent, the streaming editor integration and the eval harness behind it.

What is ManasAI?

ManasAI is an open-source AI software engineer agent created by Yash Pokar in March 2024, inspired by Devin from Cognition Labs. A planner breaks work into steps, an agent carries them out with terminal, editor, browser and search tools inside a Docker sandbox, and a replanner revises the plan when a step fails. It is MIT licensed and experimental.

What is the Amazon crawler?

amazon-crawler is an open-source Scrapy project by Yash Pokar with spiders for Amazon category pages, product listing pages and product detail pages, including ratings and reviews. It is MIT licensed and has 20 stars on GitHub.

What is AG-UI?

AG-UI, the Agent-User Interaction protocol, is an open event protocol for connecting an agent backend to a user-facing application. A run streams typed events such as text messages, tool calls and state patches to the client. Version 1.0 was released on 30 September 2026.

What is A2UI?

A2UI, the Agent-to-User Interface protocol open-sourced by Google in December 2025, lets an agent describe a user interface as declarative JSON that the client renders with a catalogue of trusted native components, so the agent never sends executable code.

Which technologies does Yash Pokar use?

Go, Python, Java and TypeScript on the backend; React and Next.js on the frontend; LangGraph, MCP, A2A, AG-UI, A2UI, RAG and LLM evaluation for AI; and AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Redis and Solr for infrastructure and data.

How can I contact Yash Pokar?

Yash has a great tenacity to work on any problem and to find solutions that are either using out of the box solution or through rigirous efforts of custom code. he is phenomenal at his work ethics and goes and beyond in his line of duty.

"What's the big deal in that" is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about Yash. It was a pleasant experience working with Yash for around eight months at DigitalShelfIQ. I was particularly impressed by Yash’s ability to handle even the latest technologies effortlessly. That skill that often takes years to develop among developers, but it seemed to come perfectly naturally to him. Yash would be a great asset to any team. If you want to get the best out of him don't tell him how it should be done, he will figure out the best way.

Amit BasuriSoftware Engineer at Amazon

Yash is very hardworking and smart intellect i have ever worked in my professional career.he is very keen and determined to work with new technologies and possess a very in depth knowledge of things he knows. i recommend him a very good asset for any product based company.

Shashi BhushanSoftware Engineer at Fynd

Yash is an extremely brilliant person yet down to earth. Picking up any technology with speed is his forte. He updated his skills right from zero in python to Scrapy, AWS boto3, Kafka in just 2-3 months which is commendable given that his university degree education is in the Civil engineering stream. The quality of code which he writes is excellent as once he has learnt a new skill, he tries to abstract it and build his own frameworks. This characteristic of his ensures he becomes the go-to person in any company for new technologies and problems and thus a great contributor to a company's success.
